Eek! I just bought myself an early birthday present on Amazon, called A Dictionary of Color Combinations, by Sanzo Wada.
Sanzo Wada was a Japanese artist, teacher, costume and kimono designer who wrote a 6-volume work on colour combinations in the 1930s, which helped to lay the foundations for contemporary colour research. You can see some images of the plates of the original volumes here.
This book I’ve ordered is a contemporary reprint based on the original (somewhat condensed), offering 348 color combinations to drool over. I’m drooling already!
